Andrea Evers, professor of Health Psychology at Leiden University and figurehead of NeuroLabNL, received the Stevin prize 2019. The Stevin prize is awarded to researchers who have achieved particular success in the field of knowledge utilization for society. Together   with the Spinoza prize, it is the highest scientific award from The Netherlands. Evers investigated, among other things, the placebo effect, and demonstrated that expectations can lead to actual physiological changes. Her research focuses on the interaction between body and mind and the influence of brain, congnition and behaviour on health.
